Slottsmöllan – An activity centre
Over the years, the Slottsmöllan area has been home to all sorts of activities. Today, it is a thriving activity and enterprise centre. There is something here for everyone, young and old alike.
Whether you and your group are in a playful mood or if you want to peacefully look at beautiful photographs alone, Slottsmöllan has the answer. Its old industrial premises are now full of thrilling opportunities – everything from professional photography and a coffee roastery to a skate park and go-carting.
Halmstad Activity Centre
Halmstad Activity Centre is the perfect place for any band of friends, bachelor party, children’s party or work team. The activities are suitable for children and adults alike. Prison Island comprises 28 different cells. In each of these, you have to solve some sort of problem in a given time. This may involve team work, intelligence and physical dexterity. In the gladiator challenges, you face each other in crazy variations of, for example, obstacle courses and sumo wrestling. Black Pearl Golf is minigolf in a black light environment. Success depends on overcoming new challenges. Laserdome is a laser game with two teams in a dark environment.
The Go-cart Hall
At the Go-cart Hall in Halmstad, you can race all year round. This is Sweden’s oldest go-cart arena. It is also one of the country’s largest. The track has been at Slottsmöllan since 1996. It offers everything from eight-minute, drop-in slots to “2 h Sunday Le Mans”. This latter is a two-hour, team competition. There are carts for adults, children and the disabled. The lap record for the 414-metre track is 36.8 seconds for men and 37.72 seconds for women. Can you beat these?
Slottsmöllan’s skate park
Slottsmöllan’s skate park measures 1,200 square metres and is open all year. It has a large street area, vertical ramp, bowl and 10-metre wide mini-ramp. There is also a café serving light refreshments, sweets and drinks. You can even buy skating goodies!
Halmstad Climbing Club
In a 900 square metre venue, Halmstad Climbing Club offers all forms of climbing for newbies and experts alike. You have access to top-roping walls, leading walls, speed walls, bouldering walls, system walls, moonboards and a small gym. Everyone is welcome during the opening hours. Children under 13 have to be supervised by an adult who is in full charge.
Located at Slottsmöllan, The PhotoGallery is One of Scandinavia’s largest and best-known galleries of photographic art. Its unique exhibitions of works by both national and international photographers can be enjoyed by all. A fantastic place for inspiration in the glorious setting of Slottsmöllan!
Would you like to taste perhaps the best coffee in Halmstad? I’m Coffee is a tiny roastery that uses beans from its own plantation in Guinea. In its cosy shop at Slottsmöllan, there is even a bar where you can enjoy whichever coffee takes your fancy. I’m Coffee also offers coffee tastings for groups of 4 to 16 people.
Halmstad Canoe Rental
At Halmstad Canoe Rental, you can hire canoes and go paddling at several places in Halmstad. You can also combine canoeing with, for example, barbecues, cycling or golf. All bookings are taken via email or telephone.
