Challenges and problem-solving

There are four exciting pursuits to enjoy at Halmstad Activity Centre (swe). External link, opens in new window. Laserdome is an arena in which two teams go head to head in the dark in a laser war. Prison Island consists of 28 different cells that you and your team must figure out how to escape. In Gladiator Combat, you can challenge one another around an obstacle course and at sumo wrestling, while at Black Pearl Golf you play mini golf in the dark with luminous obstacles in neon colours.

Museums

If you are interested in art, you should visit Mjellby Art Museum, which is located in the beautiful farmland just north of Halmstad. In addition to an impressive permanent collection of works by the Halmstad Group, in parallel, temporary exhibitions focusing on modernism are also shown. NOTE Mjellby Art Museum is currently closed for renovation and will reopen on September 7, 2024. Halland Art Museum is located in the city centre, with beautiful views of the River Nissan. The museum boasts an extensive art collection, as well as several temporary exhibitions.

Shop indoors at Hallarna shopping center

Shopping centre Hallarna offers convenient, family-friendly shopping, with over 80 shops, restaurants and cafés under one roof – ideal for inclement weather. The atmosphere is tranquil and the range of shops wide, with everything from fashion and beauty products to gadgets, interior design, groceries and Systembolaget. The shopping centre also features Scandinavia’s largest cylindrical aquarium – perfect when restless kids need a break from shopping.

Cinema treats

Who doesn’t love sneaking into a dark cinema and losing themselves in a good, fun, scary or exciting film? Excellent for combining movie escapism with a quick snack or a full dining experience. Roughly 15 kilometres outside the city in Oskarström, there is another cinema, Oskarströms Bio. It offers a range of movies for all the family!

One of Sweden’s longest indoor go-kart tracks

In Slottsmöllan, an old industrial area, you will find Halmstad’s go-kart arena. It was opened in 1996 and is one of Sweden’s oldest tracks. At 414 metres, it is also one of the longest! There are go-karts for both adults and children from seven years old. Go-karts adapted for disabled drivers are also available. The track is well-ventilated. Go-kart servicing and maintenance are taken care of by trained personnel. Packages for children’s parties can also be booked.

Adventure pools and watery fun

Halmstad Arena Bad is one of southern Sweden’s largest adventure pool complexes. This lido offers endless opportunities for fun and games. For thrill lovers, the main adventure pool has water chutes, a water piste, a whitewater run, a current flume and bubble zones. If you want even more adventure, try diving from our one-metre springboard or our three-metre tower. You’ll land in 30°C water in a 3.8 m deep pool. For the little ones, there is a separate children’s section with a mini water slide, splashing areas, floating toys and a water umbrella. If you need to rest after all the fun and games, relax a while in our 37°C bubble pool.
