Activities and attractions
Here we’ve gathered some of the activities and attractions along the trail. You’ll find even more on the pages for each hub and section.
For more details about each experience, you’ll be directed to the hub where it’s located. The only exceptions are Halmstad Stories and swimming spots, which are found in several places along the trail and link to their main pages.

Visit Halmstad Castle
Right in the center of Halmstad, you’ll find the beautiful Halmstad Castle. Visit an exhibition or listen to a historical audio guide.

Challenge Yourself at Halmstad Wakepark
Halmstad Wakepark is a popular cable park. If you don’t feel like trying it yourself, it’s almost just as fun to watch others ride.

Explore Möllegård Nature Reserve
Möllegård Nature Reserve is a favorite day trip in Halmstad, with easy walking trails through beautiful and varied landscapes.

Along the trail, you’ll find several audio guides: Halmstad Castle, the Viking Battle at Nissan, Grötvik, and Tylösand. You can listen to them through Halmstad Stories. External link, opens in new window.

Say Hello to the Lifeguards
In Halmstad, we’re proud of our lifeguards. Every day from Midsummer to mid-August, they’re on duty at Tylösand Beach.

Discover Walter Bengtsson’s Bastaskär
Sculptor Walter Bengtsson had a special connection to Grötvik. His former studio is now a lovely exhibition space showing his artwork.

Play golf at Halmstad Golf Club
In the pine forests of Tylösand, you’ll find two top-class 18-hole courses. The North Course at Halmstad Golf Club is often ranked as one of the best in Sweden.

Go surreal at Mjellby Art Museum
This museum is one of the largest centers for surrealist art in the Nordic region. It features a unique collection with strong ties to the Halmstad Group. There are often creative activities for kids too.

Swim in the sea
All along Prins Bertil’s Trail you’ll find beautiful beaches—like Västra Stranden, Tylösand, Tjuvahålan, Svärjarehålan, and Vita Bandet. Check each hub and section for more info.

Visit S:t Olof’s Chapel
S:t Olof’s Chapel is a wooden church from 1721 with beautiful original ceiling paintings and a fascinating history. In summer, there’s also a cozy café.

Enjoy the Rhododendron Park
The park is lovely year-round, but don’t miss it in late May and early June when the flowers are in full bloom.

Swim in an outdoor pool
Brottet Swim Stadium has heated pools, a waterslide, snack bar, and changing rooms. There’s also plenty of grassy space for running and relaxing.

Go Kayaking
Explore the coast by kayak! Rentals are available in several places, including a kayak station at Västra Stranden.

See Art and Cars –Together
Hotel Tylösand is home to Sweden’s largest art gallery by area: Tres Hombres Art. You’ll also find The Joyride Car Collection, a permanent exhibit featuring parts of Per and Åsa Gessle’s unique car collection.

Take a break at one of the trail’s hubs. You’ll find even more activities, restaurants, and places to stay.

The trail is divided into five sections. Each one offers its own attractions and things to do.
