Västra Stranden is one of Halmstad’s most popular beaches – a perfect stop for both relaxation and nature experiences.

With its long stretch of soft sand and crystal-clear water, the beach is ideal for peaceful walks, sunbathing, and picnics. Water sports

Västra Stranden is great for water sports – whether you’re a beginner or more experienced. Among kitesurfers, the beach is known as "Doggen." Swimming and Hot Tubs

This wide beach stretches about 1.2 kilometers and is popular among families and dog owners alike. Västra Stranden is not an official public beach, which means dogs are welcome all year round. The shallow water makes it a safe and fun place for both kids and pets to play and cool off. It’s a relaxed and welcoming environment. Getting here and moving on

To reach the next hub on Prins Bertil’s Trail, you can follow the path along the sea and through the beautiful Aleskogen forest until you arrive at Simstadion Brottet. If you're heading back to the city, just follow the trail along the Nissan River until you reach Halmstad castle.

Getting to Västra Stranden is easy with Hallandstrafiken. External link, opens in new window. The Småbåtsgatan bus stop is just 250 meters from the beach. You can catch a bus here from Stora Torg in the city center. To get to Halmstad Travel Center, switch buses at Stora Torg.
