Give yourself time to relax, to just be. Halmstad is filled with places that offer peace and quiet, and are always close by, no matter where you are. The sea is just around the corner, as are the woods and the interior. Put on your boots and fill your basket with berries or mushrooms, take a hike together on beautiful nature trails or along a lush green path.

Picnic areas

If you prefer to fill your basket with lots of snacks, there are several lovely picnic spots to head to. Make the trip into a family adventure and head to the mighty Danska Fall waterfall, an experience for both young and old. Or head up to the top of Virsehatt mountain for miles of panoramic views towards Halmstad, but don't forget to keep an eye out for trolls... Another magical place in the falls is Galgberget near the city, whose beech forests have a beautiful orange glow. Go for a walk, admire the view from the lookout tower, explore the Hallandsgården open-air museum or let your kids loose at the Sagoängen playground.
