The purpose of this event guide is to give you an overview of the process of arranging an event or meeting in Halmstad. It is a step-by-step guide, designed to facilitate for you as an organiser, with instructions on whom or what instance to contact in different matters, all in the right order. We are happy to help you with everything from planning and choosing of venue to getting the right permits and getting in touch with the right instances required for your event.
In order to make our collaboration easier and more effective, we advice you to read the following steps in prior to our first meeting.
1. Contact us at Halmstad Convention Bureau to schedule an appointment – the earlier in your planning process, the better! At our first meeting, we will tell you a little about ourselves and how we work, and you will be able to present to us your event and the conditions of it, whether it is a completely new event, an already established one that has never been held in Halmstad, or an annual event that needs developing. After that, we will together look at what kind of venue is needed for your event, and work out a project plan.

2. The Permission Guide will help you sort out which kinds of permits are required for your event. The group behind the Permission Guide is “Tillståndslotsen”, a gathering of administrators from various instances within the municipality of Halmstad. When you’ve booked a preliminary date and venue, and you have your project plan ready, the next step is to make an appointment with Tillståndslotsen, who will help you figure out what kinds of permits you will need for your event.
